Sources for High Resolution Audio (HRA)

  • 2L – The Nordic Sound
  • 7Digital (Germany) - Classical, Jazz and Blues Hi-Res downloads.
  • Acoustic Sounds - ALAC, DSD and FLAC downloads.
  • AIX Records -  An independent record label based in Los Angeles, California. They specialize in the production of new, high-resolution audiophile fidelity recordings. They record high resolution audio and video simultaneously.  All of AIX's work is captured as a recorded live track, in digital form, and are available on DVD-Audio/Video and Blu-ray discs.   In 2007, the company launched iTrax.com, the world's first high-resolution digital music download site.
  • Analekta -  Canadian site with mostly classical music and some jazz, pop and soundtracks.
  • ATMA Classique - Montreal classical site offering FLAC 44.1 kHz and the most recent releases available in FLAC 96 kHz formats.
  • Blue Coast Records - The label is known for their 96k and DSD hi-resolution downloads and their monthly special events, where they record musicians live and hours later make the music available for download.  Most of their recordings are done using 2" analog tape, and using the labels’ proprietary recording technique Extended Sound Environment (E.S.E.).  Releases are always recorded in the studio without the use of headphones, overdubs or digital effects.
  • Bowers & Wilkins: Society of Sound – A subscription service.
  • Channel Classics Records
  • Classic Records
  • The Classical Shop
  • Dacapo Records
  • DSDfile.com – The Opus3 catalog.
  • eClassical
  • Gimell Records - Independent classical music label with high resolution downloads
  • GubeMusic - An eclectic music store for downloads of high quality music and sound. The site offers downloads  in full CD (.Wav ) and 24-bit FLAC formats.
  • HD Tracks
  • HiRes Audio
  • Hyperion Records
  • iTrax
  • Linn Records
  • M·A Recordings - Established in Japan in the spring of 1988, the MA label issues provocatively creative musical statements in strictly acoustic settings.  Their catalog consists of mostly original music with elements of improvisation, structure, and traditional touchstones, including world, jazz, and classical music.  The recordings are produced with only two omni-directional microphones, the signals of which are "fed" through exotic audio cabling into handmade and customized recording equipment, designed specifically for MA.  The recordings are always "live," made without overdubbing or adding any other tracks.
  • Melba Recordings - An independent Australian label established to promote Australia’s finest classical musicians and artists in the national and international music world.  Downloads available in CD quality WMA, FLAC or Apple Lossless files (44kHz-16bit), or Studio Master WMA, Apple Lossless or FLAC files (96kHz - 24bit).
  • Naim Label -
  • NativeDSD.com
  • Pentatone - Classical music in SACD format as well as downloads in WAV (CD Quality), FLAC (High Definition) and DSD iso formats.
  • Presto Classical
  • Primephonic - An extensive catalog of classical music that provides access to thousands of tracks from the world’s leading classical music labels.  Downloads in 96Khz/24-bit FLAC and DSD.
  • Pro Studio Masters - An online music service for 24-bit AIFF, FLAC and DSD / DSF High-Resolution Audio.
  • Sound Liaison - Sound Liaison is a small but highly acclaimed audiophile recording label based in the Netherlands.  It was founded by Recording Engineer Frans de Rond and Bassist Peter Bjørnild.  Their goal is to build a bridge (liaison) between the studio (engineer and musicians) and the people who love to listen to beautiful music using high quality audio equipment. Next to standard studio recording sessions they organize special recording sessions with a live audience in a professional studio.  They have recently received praise for their “One Mic” recordings.
