CAS member Larry Musial demos bookshelf speakers of his own design that use Morel drivers in a MTM transmission line alignment with a 12" Sonicraft push-pull, isobaric, aperiodic closed box subwoofer in a powered 1 cu-ft box. Electronics used:McCormack DNA-1 Amp, Rev B from Steve McCormack, McCormack TCL-1 Preamp, Marantz CD-67, Modded by Larry Hepinstall & Cayin ST30 Integrated Tube Amp with Bizzy Bee mods. |

Albert Shippits from Grommes Hi-Fi (of Gurnee, IL) & the designer, Alan Kimmel demo new 260A 60-watt Tube Monoblocks (with volume control and input). System was a duplicate of their CES 2004 exhibit, consisting of Joseph Audio RM 25si MKII speakers, Revox E-426 balanced CD player, Nordost Valkyrie balanced interconnect and speaker wire. Amp stands from May Audio (carbon fiber). |

Local dealer Joe Jurzec from JAM'n Audio of Lake Villa, IL supplied associated electronics: Jolida tube preamp, Jolida 801 tube monoblocks, Proceed CDP transport, & current Birdland Odeon DAC. A Crown Macro Reference (800w/ch) was also featured. |

Barbeque hosted by CAS member Brian Richardson at his home. His system included modified Magneplanar MG 1.6's mounted on myestands, the Audiomat Arpege Reference tube integrated amp, a Stan Warren Philips SACD-1000 modified player, Gregg Straley's cables, Magneplanar's latest center channel and surround speaker, custom rack built using solid maple blocks, marble and other isolation & a Shanling rear amp. |

September 26 (4th Sunday) | Brent Riehl & Robert Maicks of Audio Machine & Design spoke about vibration coupling techniques used in Audiopoints equipment racks and stands, Sonoran audio cabling, & Harmonic Precision amps & speakers. This is their 2nd meeting, & in conjunction with their dealer Joe Jurzec of JAM'n Audio, they supplied the entire system consisting of: Response Audio RA-MC3 reference Tube preamp, Harmonic Precision HPM-110 amps, Goldmund SACD player, Harmonic Precision Caravelle 2-way monitors, Sonoran cabling & Sistrum Platform Stands. |

CAS member Gregg Straley will be demoing a new bass augmentation/enhancement unit from Stan Warren. It is intended to reduce perceived room standing waves at the listening position, & increase perceived bass definition, detail, & dynamics as a result. In addition, there may be a production Stan Warren chip amp available to hear. |

Christmas party and music listening session. CAS member Rick Berta demoed his own speaker design, the World Audio Jazz Crucible using a Lambda 15" bass driver with an ESS Heil Air Motion transducer. He also demoed a pair of custom-balanced 300B tube amps using a differential circuit, as well as an Exemplar Audio Reference preamp & Exemplar Audio-modified Denon 3910 multi-format player. |
