The Chicago Audio Society is dedicated to helping its members achieve maximum enjoyment of music through home high fidelity audio reproduction. The Society meets throughout the year to demonstrate, discuss and enjoy the best in music and audio.

Our September meeting will be hosted by Toska Audio at their store in Highland Park. They will be demoing the Usher Audio TD-10 DMD & Audio Solutions Figaro XL Loudspeakers driven by various excellent tube and solid state electronics.

Recent Meetings

July 15, 2018
  • Our member, Jeff Kenton hosted the July, 2018 Chicago Audio Society meeting at his home.  Jeff has a large room with a system that includes a sophisticated Mac Mini computer setup, vinyl, 2 dual 15" subs to augment Infinity Reference 4.5 speakers, and a 108" AMPRO front projector to enjoy blu-rays.  Jeff was able to play digital files, discs and vinyl. A great time was had by all in attendance listening to Jeff's outstanding system.

  • Rick Berta hosted the June, 2018 Chicago Audio Society meeting at his home.  Rick has two separate listening rooms, featuring multiple custom horn and S.E.T. amp systems including Weiss 202 DAC, Lowther drivers, Mapleknoll turntable, Transfiguration Proteus, and more were demoed.  
March 25, 2018
  • CAS member Juan Ayllon hosted the March, 2018  meeting on Sunday, March 25th from 2:00 to 5 PM.  Juan has an audio review log: www.prairieaudiomancave.com and received a number of interesting products to review and share with us including the latest VPI Prime Signature Table/Arm, VPI Viper phono stage, and Cypher Labs Prautes Headphone Amp.

  • CAS members Eric Krupp and John Brunner of Gudebrod Audio to presented the 3T12V single-ended tube preamp and AC120/3 AC line filter.

  • Deluxe Audio Video presented 3 systems-a Golden Ear Technology Reference Loudspeaker system, a Martin Logan CLX ART Loudspeaker system with Golden Ear Technology SuperSub XXL, and all Golden Ear Technology Loudspeakers in a Dolby Atmos 7.4 system.

  • Joe Galanti, founder of Superior Audio Systems presented Eminent Technology LFT-8B planar loudspeakers, Conrad Johnson tube electronics, new Soekris R-2R Ladder DAC, Dragonfly Red DAC, Audioquest Niagra 5000 Power Conditioner, MacBook Pro/Pure Music + Tidal streaming with MQA.
