A little background We held a couple of audio fairs a few years ago at our old meeting
location at Nordic Hills in Itasca. They were successful but were
a lot of work.
Then people started asking again when we were going to have another
one. Finally last year, in September 2000, we held one, and it was
very successful - especially in terms of the kinds of things we
had hoped to see. Vintage and recent tube and solid state components,
speakers, records, CDs, tubes, and accessories were available. Some
rare tube amplifiers were sold, and there was a decent amount of
vinyl that changed hands. Since the Chicago Audio Society has been
going since 1994, people have become more acquainted with each other
and have been pitching in to help, so it's no longer a effort of
a very few. A good thing! It makes it fun for everyone.
This year we're going to do it again! Because we filled the Dance
Building to capacity and would have had to turn exhibitors away
if any more had shown up, we've chosen to have the show at a different
location that's a little larger:
1291 Oakwood Ave. Des Plaines, IL (847) 824-3236
11am to 3pm
Nonmembers: $25 Members: $15
